Hey everyone!! This has been one crazy week:
-Elder Pierre-Louis finished his mission last week (sad..miss him) so Sis.DeCamp and I left him a little surprise on his car the night before he left. We wrapped his car with saran wrap and left him goodbye notes, and all their neighbors gave us the weirdest looks and kept laughing. But the morning he left their neighbors came up to them and asked if they enjoyed their surprise..and they were so confused because nothing was on their car in the morning...?!? Someone took off everything that we left on their car.. So he didn't even see it before he took off back home...lame hahaha
-We also survived a tornado this week....I love the south...
Sis.DeCamp and I were in the middle of studying, and I checked the phone real quick and saw that we had like 20 texts and missed calls from people in the ward telling us that their was a tornado that hit the ground in Sumrall and that we need to take cover. So obviously I freaked out, but survived. So it's all good. We barley get service in our own apartment, so we couldn't even get text updates from anyone for a while. But don't worry......my mattress protected us in our bathtub. ;)
-Also this week Sis.DeCamp and I got a really bad cold. So we took NyQuil one night, and the day after we were completely dead and knocked out. We tracted all that morning so in the afternoon we were exhausted, so we decided to take a quick nap for 5 minutes in the car....which lead to 20 minutes.....which lead to a huge bang on the car window from a member of our ward. We basically woke up in a panic attack and he asked us if we were okay. We said yes, so he immediately drove off after that. HAHA it was the most embarrassing thing, but we were so knocked out that day..oh well.
-Also Sis.Trussell invited her co-worker (Miss Bernie) over for dinner with us and she is literally THE CUTEST OLD LADY EVER! She asked if we could give her a bigger copy of the Book of Mormon and if we could come over and read with her every week! Sis.Trussell's daughter Reagan is on a mission in the Philippines right now, and in her weekly email she challenged everyone to read from the Book of Mormon, so Miss Bernie was super interested after reading Reagan's email! She is seriously the best, we love her so much!!
-So my skirt's zipper broke the other day, and we were about to go into a dinner appointment with the wealthiest family in all of the south...(no exaggeration either)- they are literally billionaires- and we were going to have dinner with the ENTIRE Duff family. So I was like wow, I was already not worthy enough to enter into their mansion, let alone with a broken skirt. But I had to buy binder clips to hold my skirt together because at CVS safety pins were like $9 and I was like....homie no.
So my comp helped me clip my skirt back together against the car outside when a car pulls up and says "Hey sisters! Uh....you need help?" As my comp is trying to clip my skirt back together....and it was the most awkward thing. They kept laughing and told us they were from another ward and was just making sure we were good. So that was really nice of them-but really embarrassing for me..again haha.
But we had THE BEST time at the Duff's! They are so nice and so funny, and they seriously own the nicest house I have ever seen in my entire life. Sis.DeCamp and I played a little game with everyone that lead into a mini testimony meeting, and it was probably one of the most spiritual nights I've had while out here on a mission. SHARING YOUR TESTIMONIES STRENGTHENS THEM!! Share your testimony of the gospel with someone this week, in some way.
I love and miss you all SO much!! Thanks for all the letters and emails!! I LOVE HEARING FROM YOU!!
